Let me tell you a short story:

In September 2013 we believe my Verizon Droid got caught in my car door.... anyway somehow the face of the phone was lost! The phone looked fine, however it didn't light up the face was totally black. You could not locate any of the icons to answer, obtain the contacts etc. The phone was not usable, we took it to the local Verizon store they were unable to retrieve the contacts. Our contract was not up so a new phone was not in the stars for me!

After a few days of the old flip phone, we went back to the same local Verizon store, renewed our contract & bought a new phone. They spent a lot of time trying to transfer my contacts to my new Iphone to no avail. A few weeks later, Steve found a place in Rocklin who looked at the Droid and said they could try to extract my contacts for something like $150 but no guarantee. We didn't have that kind of money as we had to pay full price for our new Iphone.

I had many contacts that would be difficult/extremely time consuming to reconstruct such as; work contacts, contacts of people who don't do facebook etc. I started slowly adding contacts to my phone....It was great when I received calls/text so I could add them as a contact.

My husband saw the ad for the new phone place in town The Cell Phone Guru and asked me where my Droid was maybe he would take it by to see if they could do anything. That night he told me they thought they could and it would only be about $65 and they wanted to know if we wanted to sell the phone for $20 and we could come back in a few days!

I went back to pick up the phone and what WONDERFUL PEOPLE you all are!!!!! Not only were you all able to retrieve my contacts you went above and beyond to help me and make sure I knew how to load them to my new Iphone. Customer Service is HUGE....I seldom take the time to write about good or bad Customer Service...it has to be EXTREME one way or the other for that to happen.

Overjoyed there is a local alternative to the soul sucking corporate \/erizon stores. The Cell Phone Guru set me up a used iPhone on Page Plus, a company that leases \/erizon's towers, which cut my monthly cell phone bill in half ($60 for a flip phone to $30 for a smart phone) without any loss of reception in town or out in the boondocks. In addition, the customer service was great: polite, knowledgable, with an IT background. (from Google+)
